about

Steven and I worked on this song together. As well as being a huge fan of country music, Steven also loves hard rocking boogie bands like ZZ Top, Status Quo and AC/DC. For this song we talked about what it would be like if we brought all the boys together for Steven's other great love: a BBQ. There was one thing lacking though in Steven's mind before this could be the ultimate social occasion. There was a gender imbalance. Steven's eyes lit up and he said I know, we'll invite Eric Clapton. How's that gonna make any difference I said. Because Eric Clapton brings all the hot chicks.

lyrics

Rip it up (Steven van der Beek)

ZZ Top got one humungus, V8 turbo car
Driving in America, drive to New York, gotta find a bar
See some hot girls with Eric Clapton, he brings half the hot chicks
Plenty hot women we can share, hot girls everywhere!

CHORUS
Rip it up, Smash it down
Rip it up, Smash it down, smash it down to the ground
Come to my world, come dance to the groove
Come to my world, very sexy girl, hot girls everywhere!

AC/DC they look so old; wait til you hear m sing
Malcolm says I wanna go out tonight, with Status Quo for a drink
Status Quo drive an army tank, Acca Dacca got Harleys to ride
Plenty hot women we can share, hot girls everywhere

CHORUS

The boys in the bands drive out to the bush, find some pigs to shoot
Get everyone to come along; cook it on the BBQ
When the barbie’s cooked maybe Eric will come, he brings half the hot chicks
Plenty hot women we can share, hot girls everywhere!

CHORUS

(music based on ‘Marry Me’ by Drive By Truckers)
